Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026 · CleanerConnect (CleanerConnect (a trading name; company to be registered))
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of CleanerConnect (the "Platform"), operated by CleanerConnect (a trading name; company to be registered) ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Platform you agree to these Terms. They are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
1. What CleanerConnect is
CleanerConnect is an online marketplace that introduces customers ("Customers") to self-employed, independent cleaners ("Cleaners") and facilitates booking, payment and communication. We are not a cleaning company and we do not employ Cleaners. The cleaning services are provided under a direct contract between the Customer and the Cleaner; we are not a party to that contract. We do not supervise, direct or control how a Cleaner performs their work.
2. Accounts
You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms.
3. Cleaners — your status
If you register as a Cleaner you confirm that you are self-employed, responsible for your own tax and National Insurance, and that you have the right to work in the UK. You set your own rates, choose your own jobs, hours and methods, and may work for others, including outside CleanerConnect. Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership or worker relationship between you and us. You are responsible for holding any insurance (including public liability) and certifications appropriate to your work.
4. Bookings and payment
A booking is a request from a Customer that a Cleaner may accept or decline. Once accepted, the Customer pays through the Platform. We charge the Customer the Cleaner's quoted rate plus a service fee (currently 15.0% of the cleaning charge). The Cleaner receives 100% of their quoted rate; the service fee is retained by us for operating the Platform. Payments are processed by our payment provider (Stripe). The Cleaner is paid out after the clean is marked complete.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Customers and Cleaners may cancel a booking before it is completed in line with the cancellation process shown in the app. Where a Customer is a consumer, statutory cancellation rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 may apply. We will refund payments due in accordance with our cancellation policy and applicable law.
6. Conduct & safety
Keep all communication and payment on the Platform. Do not arrange to pay off-platform to avoid fees — doing so removes our protections and may lead to account closure. Treat each other with respect. Customers must provide a safe working environment; Cleaners must carry out work with reasonable skill and care, consistent with the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
7. Reviews
Reviews may only be left after a completed booking and must be honest and lawful. We may remove reviews that are abusive, defamatory or fake.
8. Liability
The cleaning contract is between Customer and Cleaner; any dispute about the quality of work is, in the first instance, between them, though we offer a support and dispute process. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law. Subject to that, our total liability to you arising out of the Platform is limited to the service fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
9. Changes & contact
We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Questions: [email protected].
